September's Outing To Delvin Castle

This months outing was to Delvin castle, in Co. Westmeath. It was a foggy morning but it was beginning to lift as the first three ball headed for the tee box.

In fact it turned out to be a lovely day for a game of golf. The turnout was low however putting a dampener on things straight away. Most people made it on time for the tee off which had been booked for 9 am to 1030 am, but the straggler himself turned up as usual, you guessed it Boycey, and then to top it all he came in with a score of 35 points to claim second.

A good meal was had by all after the game, consisting of Soup, Steak and Chips, and Trifle followed by Coffee, and then a Pint or two.

                    The winners were as follows:-

                                                                    1st      Frank Fox               36 points

                                                                    2nd    Mick Boyce              35 points

                                                                    3rd     Kieron O'Reilly        35 points

Mick Boyce got second on account of him having a better back nine than me. No need to be surprised to see my name on the list, it doesn't appear there too often but this was my home club so had to make sure I had a decent game.

I think we all enjoyed the day out, just a pity it was such a low turnout, hopefully the next outing which will take place in Deer Park on the 20th of October, tee-off time 0900hrs, will see a much improved turnout.

So until the next outing don't forget "Watch Your Balls",
