October's Outing To Deer Park

This months outing was to Deer Park. It started off to be a miserable day as the rain came down as we drove to Howth. I was one of the first to arrive, with P+D O'Reilly and still the rain fell. The captain Eugene O'Reilly was next to arrive. It was looking very bleak for the outing as approaching the tee off time of 9 am not only was it still raining but no-one else had turned up.

Then one by one they started to arrive, then a whole gang of them cluttered in the Bistro for some early needed breakfast. Although for the prices they were charging instead of the egg on toast I got I should have expected the whole chicken on my plate.

The rain stopped as we arrived on the first tee box, unfortunately for me I was in the 5th group, had a long wait in the cold. It showed though as I got to the tee and drove my ball all of fifty yards into the trees on the right, was to learn though that I was not the only one in there as one of my playing partners Mick Tobin, on watching my great shot decided to follow me...haha...

Things got a bit better after that, and soon the sun came out and it was like a summers day, T-Shirts being the order of the day. The tee boxes were a quagmire of mud, and while some were skewing balls left and right of the fairway, I myself was seen attempting a pirouette, not a pretty sight I might add.

So to the scores, I don't have the list of winners, if the committee or anyone who reads this might contact the committee on my behalf and ask them to email the winners to me, along with the scores.

Last years winner of Player Of The Year was presented with his prize on Saturday, along with this years winner. Again I don't have all the names so will wait till I hear from the committee.....

Next outing is to Corballis on the 29th of December, tee off 0930 - 1100. Hope to see you all there
